I was worried why the #MikroTik site https://mum.mikrotik.com (and mum-gallery) has been down for “maintenance” for a few days. It had some really useful archived photos, video and slide decks of previous MUM presentations. Sadly the WayBack Archive doesn’t have everything. So I asked if it was gone forever. The answer was it simply needed a makeover and PHP updating so it was down pending those changes. What a brilliant update it’s had. Well done MikroTik! It looks great! 👏❤️

I've had a problem with my #IDNet FTTC line for the last month or so. When upload is saturated with #IPv6 traffic, IPv4 on the same PPPoE session stops working entirely, even pings to IDNet's gateway. Saturate with IPv4 instead and IPv6 is unaffected. It looks like separate per-protocol queues with IPv6 given priority somewhere beyond my router - same thing happens with two different modems. CAKE shaping on the #MikroTik works around it but isn't ideal.

Has anyone else seen this or got ideas?

In a nutshell, IF you’ve removed the default #MikroTik firewall or you’ve opened up SSH login to the entire world you’re at risk. One Reddit user has reported over a dozen of their routers were compromised on 2nd Sept. None of those devices had a firewall configured to block access to any management ports. @securitym0nkey @mikrotik My take is if the management services (especially SSH) are not able to be connected to by unauthorised sources, the device isn’t vulnerable, regardless of what version it has on it. If #MikroTik have not published more details it could also be because there isn’t anything more to be said. They have provided us with a suggested action plan and for us we now know that no action is required immediately but at the next maint window we will upgrade. Until then we will test.
