@ben @nick @Dragon frustrating isn’t it. A small network I look after uses starlink (spits on ground) and a local WISP because openreach only offer a damp piece of copper that isn’t good enough for the analogue telephone despite the very nearby village having fibre.

@Wifiwits@infosec.exchange @ben@hardill.me.uk @Dragon@toast.dragon2611.net we have reasonable fttc but the next road has fibre, in fact there is fibre in our road about 100 yards away but we are in poles shared with electricity and no sign of OR actually running fibre to the houses

@nick @Dragon @ben Openreach won’t give any useful information either. On committing to our current house we were told there were “no plans” for fibre and the fttc VDSL offering was awful. Fortunately virgin media was available so I ordered that. The day we moved in some guys were digging up the pavement installing the openreach fibre :ablobcateyeroll:

@Wifiwits @nick @ben I think it was 13 or so months between fibre being dug in and actually ready for service.

There appeared to be a blocked duct which meant the fibre in the street went nowhere
