    @nick Switching to was one of my best decisions of 2025. I haven’t gone so far as to charge it on solar for free, but the cost savings in maintenance and off-peak electricity costs vs gasoline are huge.

      @ghostinthenet@hachyderm.io we have been EV only since Oct 22, we have a little 2016 Renault Zoe which only has a 20kWh battery but still does approx 90 miles, and a newer 2023 MG4 with 64kWh which can do approx 250 miles. The zappi charger can automatically send spare energy to the car, it works very well.

        @nick I’ve got the extended range Ford Mustang Mach-E, which has 500 km of range in the summer and around in the winter. I thought the range would be a consideration when I got it, but so far it hasn’t been.

          @ghostinthenet @nick we’ve been 100% EV for the last few years and it’s incredible. Installed a great level two charger in the garage and no worries about gasoline costs.

            @sfoskett @nick Same. Made a bit of a mistake and paid extra to install an 80A circuit for the charger only to find that my car won’t do more than 48A… but hey. Lessons learned.
